Description

Baloji is a masterful Belgian rapper of Congolese origin who has already collaborated with Damon Albarns' Africa Express and many others. His previous album 137 Avenue Kaniama - named after the address in Lubumbashi where Baloji saw his long-lost mother - dates back to 2018. In 2023, Baloji is back with a vengeance - and how!

AUGURE is the name of his challenging project that takes three wonderful forms. Thus, AUGURE is primarily Baloji's debut as a movie director. He immediately ended up in the official selection of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, for the prize in the 'Un Certain Regard' category. Linked to this, AUGURE is also a monumental album, composed of 4 EPs with a total of 36 songs, written from the point of view of the four main characters in the film.

To top it all off, AUGURE is also an exhibition that will take place this autumn in the prestigious MOMU (Fashion Museum) in Antwerp. That final piece makes AUGURE Baloji's ultimate triptych.
